Positioning cushions in medical fabric covers covered with PU polyurethane. The primary function of the positioning cushions is to prevent decubitus ulcers and increase the comfort of the chronically lying or post-operative patient. Due to their versatile nature, positioning cushions are ideal as aids for positioning and supporting the patient in a specific position.
The cushions relieve pressure on the patient’s body by spreading the pressure over a larger area and relieving the pain of the injured area, significantly improving patient comfort. In the care of patients lying down for long periods of time, an indispensable aid to the daily routine.
Positioning cushions are filled with EPS polystyrene beads of appropriately sized diameter. The polystyrene filling retains its shape, is not subject to deformation or crumbling. EPS balls move at the slightest change in the patient’s position by which the stimulation of tissues changes (micromassage).
The anti decubitus cushion comes in a double cover. Cover one – fine mesh, contains polystyrene granules. This design protects the EPS beads from spilling out if the product is damaged. Cover two – is a zippered polyurethane fabric, which does not absorb liquids, is vapor-permeable, bielastic and pleasant to the touch. Easy to disinfect and clean. The PU surface has antibacterial, antifungal properties, inhibits the growth of dust mites, and has a high degree of fire resistance.
Composition: 45% PE and 55% PU.
It is possible to wash the cover in an automatic laundry on short cycles at 40 degrees and disinfection with antiseptics (Preparations containing alcohol up to 70% ; chlorine up to 1000pppm, QUAC) Disinfection and fogging with products containing H2O2 is not advisable.
